Cast Silver Ring Making Workshop

$250.00

Mar 18 & 25th | July 22nd & 29th | Nov 18th & 25th

Join artist and jeweller Maca Bernal for a two-session course exploring the casting process used to create one-of-a-kind jewellery.
In the first session, you’ll design and model your piece using jewellers’ wax – filing, drilling, sanding, and shaping it by hand. This wax model is then sent away to be cast in metal (silver or white bronze), using the traditional lost wax casting method.

In the second session, you’ll focus on finishing and polishing your cast piece, refining details and bringing it to life as a wearable, finished item.
Casting fees (the process of turning your wax model into solid silver or bronze) are charged separately and depend on the size and metal choice of your piece. As metal prices fluctuate, we’re unable to confirm an exact cost in advance, but fees typically range from $20–$100 per piece. Maca will discuss options with you during the class to ensure your design stays within a budget you’re comfortable with.
